I’m Right You’re Wrong
I’m Right You’re Wrong is how we are going to start off season 4 of the podcast. This is a very quick and easy to learn game about getting in the last word and ultimately proving that you’re right and the other players are wrong. I have the not suitable for work edition of the game. It’s the only version I’ve played and so it is the version that is being reviewed. Along with that I have the “shots fired” expansion that I have mixed into the game and is also part of the review.
This game is for 2-5 players and says it is 21+ even without the shots fired expansion, obviously with the expansion it’s certainly 21+ as that expansion pack makes this game into a drinking game. The game box says that the game takes anywhere from 2-20 minutes to play. I am very happy to say that the game box does not lie and that time frame really is accurate. Though I don’t think a game has ever really only taken 2 minutes. Still, the time is pretty spot on even when you are just trying to learn the game. If you are playing with that upper limit of 5 players though I would expect the upper limit of the time as well.
The rules are pretty simple on this one. You have to draw a card each round and you have to play a card each round. I love it when a game is this simple to learn and get started. After that you have to follow what is on the card. The cards are all phrases or insults that you send off to your opponents in order to prove you are right. Some are more vulgar like “Fuck you” or “Fuck it”, like one might say in a heated argument. Others aren’t as aggressive though like the “Chill” card. Those are just the card titles though, and each one has a picture along with a description of what it does under it. Those cards are basically the rest of the rules, and you better not break the rules, or you lose. That’s just one way to lose though. The basic way to win or lose is to be the last one with a card in your hand. That’s it. You have a card and no one else does? Well, that means you’ll be the one who can get the last word in and ultimately prove that you’re right and everyone else is wrong.
The cards are basically all bad things. You want to play the card that will hurt you the least. Some cards make you return cards to the deck, others will make you play a card blindly, and some will set traps for the other players or even you if it fits your strategy. I should say there are also different card types. Dynamite symbol, thumbs up, Swiss cheese, and for the expansion, a booze bottle. This comes into play as many of the cards will restrict what you can and cannot play next turn. That’s one way to force an opponent to break a rule and lose the game. There are also trap cards, the Swiss cheese, that activate when certain types of cards are played. Usually, those cards are the dynamite cards. Dynamite seems to be the worst cards and the thumbs up are the least bad. Those can still hurt you too though so be careful and make sure to read it. The booze bottle cards are just for the expansion and make you and your friends drink shots. If you do not want to drink you should definitely take those cards out. It’s not a lot of cards to go through and if you’re not drinking then they are basically freebie cards and kind of take away from the game experience.
That’s basically it. Down below are some card examples to clarify on what I’ve been talking about. You just play until there is only one person left that hasn’t broken any of the card rules, and still has a card in their hand left to play. It’s simple, it’s easy, and can be a quick party game for you and your friends to yell at each other about. Give the podcast above a listen to see how we rate it.
