Guns or Treasure? That is the real question in this pirate ship battle card game. Ultimately the goal is treasure… it’s how you win, but will you load up with guns so that you can steal your opponent’s treasure or load up with treasure yourself and hope to be able to retreat your lovely treasure ship and win the game on your own? Those are the questions you need to ask yourself when playing this quick game.

There are bomb cards and there are captain cards, but really that first paragraph explains it all. The game is extremely simple. It’s probably a good ice breaker game if you have a pirate loving friend that you just haven’t been able to get into tabletop games yet.

If you want to play this game for more than about 5 minutes you should have a decent number of players. The basic game can go up to 6 and I think it’s the most fun if you play with that upper limit. A one-on-one game can get pretty boring and doesn’t really have any strategy to it. So basically, the more pirates the better, and who doesn’t want more pirates?

This is an easy to learn and quick game that is good for people new to card games and also to play with your kids. If you’re looking for a complex game full of strategy then maybe look elsewhere. This will keep you entertained though on those rainy days on your vacation to Nassau.
