Drinks with Frenemies
This month is definitely a game that is meant for 21+, but there is a game variant that makes it 16+. This game is Drinks with Frenemies! This is a card game that you can play with 3+ players. The goal is basically to make your friends, or as they may be now… Frenemies, drink. The game has 110 cards, and you could either go through basically all of them or draw 5 cards and end the game. It just depends on how long it takes the group to draw and play the “End Game” card.
Now if you are looking for a complex game that challenges your mind with endless shifts in strategy to outthink your opponents, I’ll save you the time and say this isn’t what you’re looking for. If you are looking for a fun and easy drinking game to play with your friends before an event, a night out, or even just a night in, then I can happily tell you this is the right place.
The game is simple, you have a single deck of cards, and you draw from it. Play the cards that are in your hand and follow the instructions that the cards provide. Boom! You’ve learned the game. There is certainly more to it than that but that’s the general idea. Give the podcast above for a more detailed description.
You can compare this game to two types of games. Drinking games in general, and party games. Drinking games we’ve reviewed are Heroes of Barcadia, and I’m Right You’re Wrong. We will have more in the future, but those are the only others so far. For party games we’ve done Cards Against Humanity, Red Flags, Superfight, and recently In a Pickle. I might even be forgetting some on that end. Why do I bring these up? Basically, to show we have a large back catalog of these types of games. If you’re a loyal listener than you probably know that we tend to enjoy these games, and especially the ones listed. We actually just played Superfight a few nights ago.
Drinks with Frenemies I believes stacks up nicely with these other games and I feel is actually better than a couple of them. As mentioned, it is very easy to learn and set up. It can be a very quick game, and a good start to any party night. People can easily even jump in as they come over and the game has already started. Just update the new player on what the current rules are, deal them some cards and off they go!
So if you have been looking for a new drinking game to amp up your pregame events, give Drinks with Frenemies a try.
